ART AFTER HOURS:

The library is thrilled to partner with The Peterborough Art School for a vibrant four‑week art program designed to spark creativity in adults. Each week, instructors from the school will guide participants through hands‑on projects that explore different artistic techniques, materials, and styles. From playful introductory exercises to more focused skill‑building sessions, this series offers a welcoming space for budding artists and seasoned creators alike.

Participants will experiment with drawing, painting, mixed media, and collaborative artmaking, gaining confidence while discovering new ways to express themselves. All materials are provided with the class fee, and every session is crafted to be accessible, engaging, and fun. Join us as we transform the library into a lively studio and celebrate the joy of making art together.

Reading to Pets Family Day

OSMPL is thrilled to partner with the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) for a special Reading to Pets Family Day at the Keene Branch. Families are invited to drop in, choose a book, and spend time reading to (and giving gentle affection to) some of LAWS’ adorable adoptable animals.

We will also be serving hot dogs, popsicles, and drinks outside, with all proceeds supporting LAWS and the incredible work they do for local animals.

A fun, heartwarming day for readers of all ages and animal lovers alike.
